YES !!!

Lafayette voters have overwhelmingly improved the LUS Fiber Optics Initiative.  At 9 PM with 72 of 88 precincts reporting -- the Yes vote is at 10,411 or 62%, and the No vote is at 6,302 or 38%.

The vote appears to have passed in most precincts and garnered solid majorities in all parts of the City.  The combined efforts of the City-Parish Government and the local political groups "Lafayette Coming Together" and "Lafayette Yes!" as well as the endorsements of both political parties and all major community organizations appear to have been more than sufficient to make the case to voters.
